Prince Andrew reportedly demanded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former home, Frogmore Cottage. Lately, talk of the former Duke of York’s exit from Royal Lodge has been circulating on the internet. King Charles seems to have announced his decision about his brother’s position in the royal family.
Recently, a source claimed that Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, appeared to have understood that the time of their exit had arrived. However, as a parting gift, the 65-year-old wanted to move to the Sussexes’ ex-Windsor property.
Prince Andrew sets sights on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former home, says source
Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have been staying in Royal Lodge for 20 years despite their divorce. As things went south for the former Duke of York, King Charles reportedly ordered his sibling to vacate the property.
According to The Sun, a source claimed that the prince seemed to have set his sights on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former home, Frogmore Cottage.
Reportedly, Andrew had not paid rent for all the years he stayed in the Royal Lodge. Hence, the king allegedly wanted him to eventually leave. However, if he got Frogmore Cottage as his next home, Harry’s uncle seemingly still has to pay the rent.
The property was gifted to the Sussexes by the late Queen Elizabeth II. Andrew was reportedly offered the cottage after Harry and Markle’s royal exit, but he refused at the time. On the other hand, Ferguson seemingly has her eyes on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Adelaide Cottage, as the future king and queen would move to their new property soon.
The insider told the outlet that Andrew has agreed to leave Royal Lodge, but with conditions. “He is realistic and knows the writing is on the wall and that his time at Royal Lodge is up. If he must go, then he has asked for Frogmore Cottage,” they added.
Furthermore, Prince Harry and Sarah Ferguson have been staying at the lodge for almost two decades. Despite being divorced, they lived together, but now a friend claims that the pair needed some distance.
