During the Love Is Blind Season 9 reunion, “Sparkle” Megan Walerius finally revealed her long-kept secret. And no, Jordan Keltner, her former fiancé, was not involved with her hidden storyline.
Megan and Jordan fell in love, sight unseen, in the pods. Their connection felt stable, but in the days leading up to their wedding, Megan called the whole thing off. In a way, her decision felt kind, since it saved them both from an embarrassing, televised walk down a failed aisle. But no one tied the knot this season, actually, so at least they were in good company.
Nearly two years have passed since Megan and Jordan filmed these scenes. Their reunion, however, was filmed recently. So, what big secret did Megan disclose here, and how did Jordan react to her shocking announcement during the Love Is Blind Season 9 reunion? Here’s that tea.
What did “Sparkle” Megan Walerius reveal at the Love Is Blind reunion?
In the weeks leading up to the reunion, viewers started looking at Megan with a bit of a side eye. Was she pregnant? No one really knew. Yet, fans suspected she might be, especially after photographers caught her holding a newborn baby in her hometown of Denver, Colorado.
But during the reunion, Megan cleared everything up. “Today, I actually have a little bit of a surprise. I am a mom now. I had a baby boy [named Brooks] 2-and-a-half months ago,” she revealed, shocking everyone on her cast.
As she further explained, she met Paul Wegman, the father of her child, through a mutual friend roughly three months after filming wrapped. Only a handful of months later, Megan learned that she was pregnant. “We had our ups and downs,” she confessed, further admitting, “I’m not going to say it was perfect. But Paul has been amazing,” and now, they are beyond “happy.”
As Megan noted, “it was hard” to keep her pregnancy a secret from the media. But she found a way. From phone-free baby showers and gatherings to a social media hiatus, Megan “just wanted to have” her “pregnancy and the start of Brooks’ life for us to have in private.”
Who is Paul Wegman, Megan’s baby daddy?
So, who is Paul? According to his LinkedIn, Paul is the Chief Executive Officer at NOVA Automation. His company specializes in large-scale packaging for various industrial materials. In all, he has worked here for (almost) eight years.
Paul earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland Global Campus. He then earned a master’s degree in Business Administration at the Texas McCombs School of Business. He is from St. Louis, Missouri. But Paul has held jobs in many different areas, including an air force base in Italy, where he served as the “Communications technician at the 603rd Air Control Squadron, and networking engineering at the 31st Communications Squadron.”
As Paul sat in the audience, Megan described their newborn as “my whole world.” She added, “I now know more than ever. I was meant on this earth to be a mom.” Their son Brooks is “amazing,” and this new “family is happy.”
But parenting has already changed Megan, she said. “I’m definitely learning to be a lot more selfless,” and “I think that becoming a mom is the ultimate act of selflessness.” Then, Megan finally shared photographs of their little boy, likely thankful that she no longer has to hide Brooks from the world.
How did Jordan Keltner react to Megan and Paul’s baby news at the Love Is Blind reunion?
But how did Jordan, her former Love Is Blind fiancé, react to this news during the reunion? Turns out, Jordan already knew.
“I had some disgusting person reach out to me on Instagram, pretty much trying to stir the pot, so I just reached out to Megan,” Jordan explained. “She was very transparent, which I appreciate. If I had found out right here, right now, I think that would have been jarring, so I appreciate the transparency and the honesty,” he added.
But Jordan does think that Megan and Paul will “be great parents.” In fact, he has “no doubt in my mind about that.”
As viewers learned, Jordan is also a parent. During Season 9, he and Megan actually bonded over his son, who has the same diabetes diagnosis as her late father. But now, as a parent herself, this journey has given Megan “a lot more empathy too for Jordan and being a single dad,” she stressed.
Realizing how much a child complicates things, Megan added, “I applaud Jordan for even doing this experiment and putting his heart out there.” Jordan came across well during Season 9. So we know he will have no problems finding his better half.
As for Megan and Paul, they are currently residing with Brooks in Denver.
