Lisa Ann Walter Accuses DWTS Judges of Underscoring Elaine Hendrix Throughout the Show

The journey of Elaine Hendrix in Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars has been nothing short of inspirational. A former dancer who hadn’t danced in years, her clean performances instantly took fans by surprise. However, she suffered a scary injury in her rib mid-season. Because of the nature of the injury, she had to miss a performance entirely. It was her rehearsal video and fan votes that kept her in the competition.

Now that Elaine is heading into the semi-finals, the pressure is on. She and her pro partner Alan Bersten are one of the only pairs without a perfect score yet. But according to her friend Lisa Ann Walter, that’s by no fault of her own.

Lisa Ann Walter may be Elaine’s biggest fan. Not only did they star in The Parent Trap together but they’ve been close friends ever since. Lisa even danced with Elaine and Alan during Dedication Night.

The Abbott Elementary star recently weighed in on Elaine’s DWTS journey and believes that she has been “underscored” throughout the competition so far.

“She has dance training. She had no ballroom [experience]. And the way she picked up the frame and holds in frame, the way she picked up heel leads in her smooth dances — she is truly good,” she told US Weekly.

The actress also gave Alan his flowers for teaching Elaine and helping her fall back in love with dance.

“Alan teaches her legit ballroom. There is no fudging. There is no, ‘We’re going to throw in some jazz.’ When she does a tango, it is real tango. Quickstep is real quickstep.”

Now that fan-favorite Andy Richter has been eliminated, it’s up to stars like Elaine and Dylan Efron to make their way to the front of the pack and hopefully secure a finale spot. Can they do it?

Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays, at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. It streams on Hulu the next day.
