In the latest episode of the talk show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the Oscar winner recalled how she, at age 20, nearly met the then-prince in a “transparent lace” dress. Aside from her stories about her royal encounters, the British actress also talked about her upcoming movie, “Goodbye June.”

Kate Winslet and King Charles’s first meeting was indeed the highlight of her recent appearance on the talk show, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” When she arrived, the host mentioned that the Hollywood star, who lived in New York for nearly 10 years, had moved back to her homeland in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, they discussed the monarchy ruled by King Charles, as the actress gushed over his kind personality.
While talking about the 77-year-old, Winslet recalled her first encounter with him, when he was still a prince. She told Kimmel that Charles had arrived at the royal premiere of “Sense and Sensibility.” Before jumping into the fascinating part of the story, the “Titanic” star justified the upcoming happenings, saying that she was “only 20.” Additionally, she didn’t realize that she was truly going to meet a member of the royal family.
Hence, it skipped her mind that she was “wearing a kind of transparent lace outfit.” However, fortunately, she had a “coat.” The 50-year-old’s younger self was getting nervous as the now king made his way towards her. She feared that her sheer dress might seem inappropriate, but Winslet shielded her front with the coat and curtsied flawlessly. Her story left Kimmel and the audience in splits.

It appeared to be a recent encounter, as the talk show host showed a photo featuring Meryl Streep and David Beckham standing in line beside Winslet.
