Cardi B just gave birth to her fourth child … and, in true Cardi style, found a unique way to celebrate the new arrival.
In case you missed it, the rapper welcomed her fourth baby, who is her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, on November 4th. She took to Instagram to share the announcement, but is yet to confirm any more details about the little one, who joins siblings Kulture, Blossom, and Wave, whom she shares with ex-husband, Offset.
Cardi B has cast her umbilical cord into gold jewelry
To commemorate the birth of her fourth child, Cardi had a piece of her umbilical cord cast into gold chrome. Mommy Made Encapsulation, the brand that made the keepsake, shared a video of the creation on Instagram.
“The umbilical cord is the very first connection between a mother and her baby,” the Instagram caption said. “Creating this keepsake is always such an honor,” the caption continued. “But doing it for Cardi and her sweet baby means the world to us.”
“Turning something so meaningful into a piece that can be held, remembered, and cherished forever is one of the most special parts of what we do.”
Although the video racked up over 40 thousand likes, Cardi’s fans were divided over the keepsake. “I wish they had this around when I had my babies,” one person commented. “I would have done the same,” they continued. Meanwhile, someone else responded: “I don’t get it … the baby is the keepsake. Throw the rest away!”
In addition to the umbilical cord keepsake, Cardi had a placenta print made, too. The making of the print was shown in another video shared by the brand. “Thank you, Cardi, for trusting me again with your magical placenta,” the post read.
