Lady Gaga certainly comes from a talented family. The singer/songwriter alone would have been impressive enough, but now the Oscar-winning pop star’s younger sister, Natali Germanotta, has made her Vegas Fashion Week debut. She is stepping into the spotlight as a designer and costume maker.
Natali Germanotta, Lady Gaga’s little sister, made her Vegas Fashion Week debut
The piece that Natali showed during Vegas Fashion Week was a piece created for her elder sister. Lady Gaga fans will recognize the bold pink feathered coat from Gaga’s 2021 Las Vegas residency at the MGM Grand.
“It was made out of 60 boas that were all a custom blush pink color, and they were all hand-sewn onto this stretch mesh base,” Natali told PEOPLE. “So it was super lightweight. And we lined the coat inside and out because we felt it was really important for when she does a reveal. That’s why we always do these big drama coats in the beginning, and then you have a huge reveal moment underneath.”
Indeed, Lady Gaga has always had a flair for fashion. So much so that the singer is set to appear in The Devil Wears Prada 2. No doubt, in another jaw-dropping ensemble. It seems Natali shares Gaga’s love for fashion. She attended Parsons School of Design to study fashion. And she put her degree to good use.
She supported her sister during her world tours and even appeared on camera in Gaga’s music videos like Telephone in 2009. She was also a stylist for Gaga’s 2018 film A Star is Born. At the 2022 Grammys, Natali designed that gorgeous light blue dress and feather caplet for Lady Gaga’s performance. It certainly does help to have the perfect inspiration and model right in the family.
But Natali’s designs have gone beyond her sister. Earlier this year, she and her husband, Alex Dolan, opened the store On Stage Essentials. The store is a sewing and costuming supply store in Las Vegas, focused on showgirl-inspired looks.
