Cher may soon share her life story in her own words and on her own terms. The music icon is reportedly close to finalizing a major deal with Netflix for a tell-all documentary series that would chronicle her extraordinary rise, personal battles, and decades-long career in entertainment. According to industry insiders, Cher has spent months negotiating with the streaming giant, and the agreement is now “as good as done.”
Cher is in ‘advanced stages’ of talks about her Netflix tell-all series, per report
The proposed series, reportedly titled Sharing Her Story, will consist of seven hour-long episodes. Sources claim the project is valued at around £13 million and is expected to premiere in 2026. Producers plan to align the release with the second instalment of Cher’s previously announced two-part memoir.
“Cher has been in talks with Netflix for months and, finally, the deal is as good as done,” the source shared. “They have agreed to a seven-part series which will delve into the highs and lows of her life. It’s said to be worth £13million, and the project is tentatively called Sharing Her Story — with the pun fully intended.” Cher published the first half of her memoir last November with HarperCollins, looking back at her turbulent childhood and her complex relationship with her late ex-husband Sonny Bono.
Cher, who was also previously married to musician Gregg Allman, made headlines after revealing that her next album will likely be her last. “This is probably the last album that I’m gonna do,” she said. “I’m really excited… they are great songs, and I’m just really excited that I’m doing it.” The 79-year-old star spoke with trademark humor about aging in the spotlight, joking, “I’m older than dirt now, OK? I’m the oldest person I meet in almost every room unless I’m in an old folks’ home.”
