Mob Boss John Gotti’s Daughter Victoria To Undergo Major Surgery With Son as Donor

Mobsters need to watch their backs at all times. Victoria Gotti, though, has someone else watching it for her, a specific part anyway. The daughter of arguably the biggest mafia boss in American history, John Gotti, will soon be undergoing a transplant. Her son, Carmine Gotti Agnello, is said to meet all of the qualifications to be his mother’s donor.

Carmine is the middle of three kids Victoria has, and reportedly insisted he be the one to help his mother out. Victoria has been dealing with recurring health issues for years.

Her father took his share of lives during his lifetime, but Victoria’s son is doing the opposite. Carmine will donate a kidney to his mom in New York City. “Victoria feels her son is giving her a brand-new life,” a source tells People.

Growing up in a mob family may have taken a physical toll on the late mafia man’s second-oldest child. In her early 20s, she got put on blood thinners because of a heart mitral valve prolapse diagnosis. A source says that she also experienced elevated blood levels about five years ago. Meanwhile, this past summer, Victoria found out that she had chronic kidney disease.

Victoria is not only well known for her infamous last name but also for her reality TV appearances. In 2014, she released a TV special called Growing Up Gotti: 10 Years Later, which updates the lives of her and her three sons. She’s also previously appeared on Celebrity Apprentice, The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and Mob Wives.

The United Network for Organ Sharing said in January that nearly 90,000 people are on the national transplant waiting list. Approximately 15% of Americans are facing chronic kidney disease.

Following the transplant, Victoria will likely be recovering at her home for as long as three months. Carmine’s recovery time is believed to be between two and three weeks.
