According to a report, it was allegedly the same dress that she wore during a 2022 Variety photoshoot. Sources have now accused her of stealing it, but the 44-year-old reportedly kept it to save it from superfans.

Meghan Markle recently made headlines after the trailer of Netflix’s “With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration” came out. In it, she appeared in an emerald green dress, which could be seen in one of the show’s promotional posts as well. Reportedly, it’s the same fit that she wore during a 2022 Variety photoshoot.
The Royalist via The Daily Beast claimed that she allegedly stole the $1700 dress. However, sources from her side defended Markle, stating that she kept the gown to stop fans from illicitly selling it. According to someone close to her, they revealed that the mother of two has held onto the Galvan “Ushuaia” dress to protect it from being “sold on in an unauthorized auction.”
Another insider refuted the allegation about the actor keeping the outfit “without asking.” “The insinuation that any items were taken without the full knowledge and agreement of the on-set stylists or their respective teams is not only categorically false, but also highly defamatory,” the spokesperson said. They also mentioned that if Markle has supposedly held onto items, then they were done as per “contractual arrangements.”
Meanwhile, a fashion stylist, who has been an employee of the royal family, claimed that the recent trailer makes it “pretty clear” that Markle has the dress. “I’m sure the designer agreed. How could they not? What’s interesting is that she doesn’t say she paid for it,” they added.
“With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration” will be released on December 3 on Netflix.
