When Todd Chrisley got his prison sentence cut short by Donald Trump, he came out talking a big game about how he “ran his prison block.” Now, he’s trying to instill some of that wisdom in future inmate Steve McBee Sr.
The patriarch of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys got sentenced to 24 months behind bars for orchestrating a crop insurance fraud scheme. He only has a few days left of freedom before he has to report for his sentencing, and he’s been getting insight from Todd every step of the way.

Steve has to surrender to the feds no later than 2 pm on Monday, December 1. Leading up to the big day, Steve has been doing a last-minute press junket. That included a visit to Todd’s podcast and an interview with People. When speaking with the latter, he gushed over Todd, calling him an “inspiration.”
Steve explained, “He doesn’t owe me anything, and he’s texted me every other day, like, ‘Checking on you, buddy. How are you feeling today? It’s going to be okay. Everything’s going to be all right. We’re going to get through this. I’m going to help you any way I can.'”
According to Steve, Todd has given him “1,000 tips” about what to expect in prison. But the most important advice he’s getting from Todd is how to get out of jail without serving the full sentence.
Of course, Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were granted pardons after confessing their undying devotion to President Trump. With the help of their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, they begged Trump to get out of prison. Steve is preparing to do the same, even though he cost the United States Department of Agriculture a multimillion-dollar loss in his fraud scheme.
“I’ve been meeting with pardon attorneys, and I had a long meeting Friday, and then Monday I spent four hours with them,” Steve said. “We’re putting everything together to fill out the application and turn everything in.”
If Steve wants to get Trump’s attention, the McBee boys will need to trade in their cowboy hats for MAGA hats. It worked for the Chrisleys, and it could work for the McBees, too.
