Please look out your window right now and tell me if you see pigs flying. After years of refusing to take any blame in the collapse of three of his four marriages, Kody Brown is ready to say he’s sorry.
Following years of animosity with his exes, Kody’s ready to accept responsibility for his part in the breakups. He is the common denominator, after all. Perhaps that conversation he had with the staff on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test stuck with him.
In the November 30 episode of Sister Wives, Kody told wife Robyn Brown that he wants to make amends. “I want to apologize for being angry when they wanted out,” he said.

“But here’s the thing,” Kody replied. “Because I got angry, I caused other hurtful issues.”
His solution is to make an apology tour to meet with Meri, Janelle and Christine individually. “Do you think that’s dumb? … I mean, not dumb — I mean like foolish?” he asked Robyn.
After taking a beat, Robyn answered, “I don’t think someone [saying I’m sorry] to someone else if they feel like they’ve hurt them, is wrong.”
Ultimately, the biggest thing Kody wants to retract is telling his former wives “that I never loved them.” He realizes now that was a “really crappy” thing to say to the mothers of 13 of his children.
After remembering women he knew in his church growing up, who were in polygamous marriages and were unloved, Kody had an epiphany. “It makes me sad to think that I said it,” Kody shared with Robyn.
“Hallelujah, thank you Jesus,” Robyn later said in a confessional. “I knew it wasn’t the truth … And I just felt really bad for the kids. [I was thinking thinking], ‘You have no idea the kind of pain you’re causing right here.’”
“I was so hurt, so angry, that I took a knife and I swung it so hard I cut myself,” Kody continued. “I’m kind of a — I don’t want to say an asshole — but I have asshole potential.”
“You can be rough for sure,” Robyn agreed.
Sister Wives airs Sundays at 10/9c on TLC.
