According to one insider, who reported to Rob Shuter, Taylor Swift took one look at the Jeff Bezos–Lauren Sanchez wedding and immediately decided, “Absolutely not. That is not going to be me.” The source continued, “Taylor hated the optics of that whole Bezos thing.” Moreover, the musician “doesn’t want people rolling their eyes” and “wants something real — something grounded.” The insider said that Swift felt the entire display came off as excessive and too close to a “royal wedding reboot,” something she has no interest in recreating.
Swift, who is preparing to marry NFL star Travis Kelce, is said to be diving into pre-wedding celebrations with her closest girlfriends. Earlier sources revealed to The Sun that she had planned at least three girls’ trips with her bridesmaids to unwind from wedding planning with her inner circle before becoming Mrs. Kelce. “The bridesmaids have been talking for the past two weeks, several times a week, whether on the phone, through texts, FaceTime, or Zoom,” the source revealed.
Additionally, her gal pal Selena Gomez, who got married to Benny Blanco earlier this year, has been sharing “ideas and suggestions to make it the best experience possible for her best friend.” Swift’s longtime best friends are all said to be “so excited” about planning the celebrations. “Taylor absolutely loves seeing the love, unity, and dedication from her friends as they help her create the best wedding weekend of her life,” the insider added.
Although the exact wedding date remains unannounced, sources claimed that the celebrations are expected to span the entire weekend. The ceremony will likely take place at Swift’s Rhode Island mansion, which she purchased more than a decade ago.
