“Our hearts are shattered as we share the devastating news of the loss of our beautiful, kind, and generous son, brother and friend Chad,” Chad’s loved ones shared via GoFundMe.
The tribute did not reveal a cause of death, but they noted his passing was unexpected. They’re currently seeking support for his mother, his animals, and his memorial costs.
“His passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and we are still struggling to comprehend a world without his light,” the tribute continued. “Chad was the type of person who poured himself into others.”
Reality fans first met Chad on the short-lived dating series, Finding Prince Charming. Hosted by Lance Bass, it aired on Logo for one season. It was like a gay version of The Bachelor, featuring 13 singles competing for the affection of the “prince,” Robert Sepúlveda Jr. Spoiler alert, but Chad wound up walking away from the show as the drama heated up.
When the season aired, Chad found himself caught up in even more mess. He spoke out about how he lost his job due to his association with the show. Chad also called out Robert for trying to pursue him after the season wrapped.
Although reality TV fans will remember Chad from the dating series, his friends and family will remember him for much more. In his tribute, they said the world felt brighter with him in it.
“He lifted up his friends, encouraged everyone around him to grow, to advocate for themselves, and to believe in their own worth,” his loved ones wrote.
