Gwen Stefani Called Out by Reality Star for Anti-Abortion Prayer App Collab

When Gwen Stefani urged her followers to “spend time in prayer” during Advent, she probably didn’t expect a clapback. In an Instagram reel, Gwen was promoting Hallow’s Advent Challenge, which involves praying every day during the lead-up to Christmas.

“It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer,” she added. “That is what Christmas is all about: letting God into our hearts and letting Jesus bring us his peace. Download Hallow, and join me and millions of others in praying every day this Advent and Christmas season.”

Selling Sunset Chrishell Stause called out Gwen Stefani

Meanwhile, Chrishell Stause had a personal response to Gwen’s partnership with prayer app Hallow. “Gwen-DON’T SPEAK,” the Selling Sunset star wrote in the comments section, referencing No Doubt’s 1996 hit. “Please take your own advice on this one.”

And Chrishell wasn’t the only one unhappy with Gwen’s Hallow partnership. “I love you, Gwen but unfortunately I ain’t no Hallow app girl,” wrote another user. The comment was a clever reference to the singer’s 2004 solo hit Hollaback Girl.

Another wrote, “This is very disappointing, Gwen. Lots of your fans are from the LGBTQ+ community and this feels like a deep betrayal.”

While other users pointed out that it costs nothing to pray, one commented, “God is free, Gwen. Touch some grass.” Reportedly, Hallow costs $9.99 a month or $69.99 per year, and includes prayers and meditations that are explicitly anti-abortion.

Yet another Instagram user added, “This app was developed by JD Vance and Peter Thiel. Why are you advancing their anti woman, anti LGBTQIA agenda and their greed? As someone said recently, you don’t need to pay $70 per year to find Jesus in an app. Jesus is absolutely everywhere, for absolutely everyone, all the time, for free!”

For her part, Chrishell has good reason to take Gwen’s paid partnership with an anti-LBGTQ+ company personally. Chrishell has been married to Australian singer/songwriter G Flip since 2023. As a woman in a same-sex marriage, of course she would find Hallow’s “anti woman, anti LGBTQIA agenda” hurtful.
