Sharon Osbourne Reveals Ozzy’s Final Words Before Death

Former talk show host Sharon Osbourne gave insight into husband Ozzy’s final moments before his death. In her first interview since the rocker passed on July 22, she gave a detailed account of the Crazy Train singer’s last moments.

Days before his passing of a heart attack, Ozzy performed for the last time on July 5 in his hometown of Birmingham, England. He announced the Back to the Beginning show, which featured his band Black Sabbath, would be his final concert due to health issues.

Sharon’s interview on Uncensored with Piers Morgan detailed Ozzy’s tragic death. His final words to her prior to his heart attack in their home gym were, “Kiss me. Hug me tight.”

After being up and down all night in the bathroom, the singer got out of bed at about 4:30 a.m. for his workout. Sharon heard yelling, then ran to the gym, where she found Ozzy slumped over. She recalled, “He had a heart attack. I ran downstairs, and there he was, and they were trying to resuscitate him, and I’m like, ‘Don’t — just leave him. Leave him. You can’t. He’s gone.'”

Ozzy, who died at the age of 76, had been battling several health problems. This included a 2019 diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease and a fall in January of that year for which he needed multiple surgeries. In 2023, Ozzy had neck surgery, and then contended with blood clots in his legs. Prior to his death, the Paranoia singer suffered from pneumonia and sepsis.

Sharon revealed to Piers that her husband knew the end was near “because he’d been so ill this year, terribly, terribly ill. And when we came to England and we were meeting with new doctors here, a new medical team for him, the main doctor said to him, ‘If you do this show, that’s it. You’re not going to get through it.”

Despite his failing health, being shot full of antibiotics and extreme pain, Ozzy was determined to put on one last show. “He said, ‘I’m doing it. I want to do it, and I’m doing it.’,” Sharon recalled. “He just wanted it so bad to say thank you to everyone. And I think he honestly did know that, he, he was done. That was his time. He was so happy afterwards.”
