Kate Middleton may have stepped into her sister-in-law’s territory recently.
When Prince William welcomed Hollywood actor Eugene Levy to Windsor Castle, the comdian was immediately charmed by Kate. The pair reportedly had an “instant rapport,” which insiders say has probably left Meghan Markle “frustrated and tearing out her hair.”
Appearing on Eugene’s TV show The Reluctant Traveler, William entertained the Schitt’s Creek star with humorous stories about the Windsor castle. But the real star of the show was the Princess of Wales. Kate even invited Eugene to her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.

Even though he claimed to have a “lovely day” with William, the American Pie star was filmed chatting up his wife. And then he met their dog, Orla!
“Well, I’m a bit of a dog whisperer myself, but the cookies helped,” Eugene told Kate. “It was a memorable day, that’s for sure.”
For her part, Meghan has spent years chasing A-list stars for her Netflix projects. Meanwhile, the ease with which Kate has Hollywood icons eating out of her hand must leave Meg “tearing her hair out with frustration,” a source told Radar Online.
During the visit to Windsor Palace in September, Eugene and William casually chatted about the prince’s challenging 2024 over a pint. But it was the princess who stole the show.
“Kate has this natural charm that makes people instantly comfortable,” an insider confided. “She genuinely enjoys connecting with creatives, and Levy clearly clicked with her. It’s no surprise he was invited to her carol service.”
“Kate doesn’t chase fame, it [just] tends to follow her,” another source added. “She engages with people authentically, whether they’re British stars or international talent … She’s always been able to turn professional meetings into genuine friendships.”
While Meghan’s attempts to pull Hollywood A-listers for her Netflix projects has been called “cringe-worthy,” Kate just has an effortless ability to connect with people. At the same time, the Duchess of Sussex’s attempt to become “American royalty” eludes her.
“There’s a huge sense of envy on Meghan’s side,” another source said. “She sees Kate connecting with high-profile talent in a very organic way while she has to negotiate hard to get appearances from lesser-known performers … It’s frustrating and, frankly, humiliating for someone used to being in the spotlight.”
Now that Kate has seemingly “effortlessly added [Eugene to her] Christmas card list,” Meghan watches “from afar, totally frustrated.”
