Fans of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives knew about Chase McWhorter before he appeared on-screen. There was plenty of chatter about Chase, and plenty of strong feelings. During Season 2, he popped up at Jessi Ngatikaura’s Halloween party. And it was a mess.
Plus, Chase’s ex-wife, Miranda McWhorter, was trying to return to MomTok. She used to be best friends with Taylor Frankie Paul until the “soft swinging” scandal rocked the MomTok group. Finally, Chase admitted that he and Miranda took part in soft swinging with Taylor and her then-hubby, Tate Paul. Meanwhile, Chase tried to mend fences during Season 3 of SLOMW.

I mean, Chase was even the barista at the Season 3 SLOMW reunion, serving up Dunkin’ beverages during the show. And Mikayla Matthews was not happy that Chase was part of the special.
US Weekly reported that Chase caught three misdemeanors in July 2025, including driving on a suspended or revoked license, possession of a controlled substance, and driving under the influence. The police report noted that Chase “admitted to drinking at a bar and using cocaine before driving.” Not cool.
So, Chase decided to poke fun at his situation with another TikTok, this time standing at a bus station. “The lion doesn’t concern himself with the opinion of non-bus riders,” Chase captioned the December 9 clip. He also wrote, “Any single moms that need a co-pilot tho lmk pls.” Yikes.
One follower wrote in the comments, “I JUST REMEMBERED WHY YOU’RE A BUS USER NOW AND IM CRYINGG.” Another fan posted, “You can hate Chase all you want but you can’t deny this man is a comedic genius.” Plus, SLOMW star Zac Affleck also weighed in. “Thirst trapping the single Moms with bus stop TikTok’s is a new level of lore,” he commented.
Meanwhile, Miranda is dealing with her own legal problems, as she recently had a default judgment for $12,849 entered against her.
