Some reality stars spend years locked in fierce custody battles with their exes, but it looks like Mercedes “MJ” Javid isn’t going to be one of them. Just two months after filing for divorce from Tommy Feight, The Valley: Persian Style stars have already reached a custody agreement over their six-year-old son, Shams.

When MJ first filed for divorce, the subsequent custody battle seemed like it could get dicey. She asked the court to grant her primary legal and physical custody of Shams. Tommy would still have visitation rights.
Meanwhile, Tommy hit back, asking for joint custody. Although MJ told the judge that she was the primary caregiver of their son, Tommy submitted a declaration to the judge arguing that he’s an “involved and committed father.”
“I believe it is in our son’s best interest to have frequent and continuing contact with both parents. I respectfully request joint legal and physical custody, and a parenting schedule that reflects the involved role I have always had in his life,” Tommy pleaded.
Just a few weeks after submitting those court documents, the exes reached a custody agreement, per Us Weekly. According to their report, MJ and Tommy went into meditation on Thursday, December 18. They didn’t have an appointment. They just walked in, sat down, and started working towards a solution.
The outlet didn’t share specifics about their custody agreement, but a judge signed off on it the same day as the mediation. This is one thing they can check off their list as they work to finalize their divorce.
