Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid recently said goodbye to her husband Tommy Feight after seven years of marriage. Divorce is never easy, and the Shahs of Sunset alum understands that no better than ever. She shared that the aftermath of the divorce and moving into a new place with her son has been “very humbling.”

The couple’s split was announced in October. MJ filed for divorce on October 17. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason and sought sole custody of their son, Shams. It all happened rather quickly, but it seems that they ended on a relatively positive note as MJ admitted she still has love for her ex-husband.
MJ appeared on Jeff Lewis Live and shared how she has been since the divorce. She and Shams moved out of their shared home, which they were renting, and found a new place.
“It’s very humbling to move from a place where your child was six months old until he’s six and a half years old,” she admitted. Change can be daunting for anyone. But she did admit that she’s “very happy” in her new home.
Her son Shams also loves the new place. As for Tommy, MJ shared that he also has a new place that is quite close to hers. “The distance between his place and my place is less than a minute driving,” she shared. This is convenient so Tommy can see Shams as much as possible, which MJ readily agreed with.
So it looks like things remain amicable with the ex-couple. Fans have watched them go through ups and downs on television, and it looks like they are navigating this new low gracefully.
“I love Tommy,” MJ admitted. “I might still be in love with Tommy. He’s always family. I’m always going to make sure he’s okay. But I think that this is something that’s necessary and positive for everybody.”
They still have to work out all the details of their split, like financials and the like, but here’s hoping it stays amicable between them. Divorces can get ugly very quickly when money is involved.
