It’s been a busy and chaotic week for Donald Trump. Although, arguably, what’s new about that? Not only did the US President capture the Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, but he was also filmed slurring his words and struggling with a set of stairs.
Recent Presidents have a history of stumbling on the Air Force One steps
As US President Donald Trump returned to the White House for the first time this year, he was filmed stepping off Air Force One. And seemingly, having trouble as he did so. In the video, Trump slowly descended the staircase off the plane, pausing halfway through and maintaining a strong grip on the railing the entire time.
Ironically, this is something Trump previously criticised Joe Biden for. “Every day, the guy’s falling down stairs,” Trump told military generals last year, per The Daily Beast. “I’m very careful. You know, when I walk downstairs – like I’m on stairs, like these stairs – I walk very slowly.”
Trump went on: “Just walk nice and easy. You don’t have to set any record.”
The US President’s apparent struggle with the stairs comes just days after he was accused of slurring his words in a press conference about his controversial involvement in Venezuela. “Trump is heavily slurring this morning,” someone posted on X. “Slurring and rumbling,” agreed someone else on the social media platform.
“He’s having a really hard time reading,” another critic said on X. Elsewhere on the platform, someone suggested the President was ready for a nap. “He looks like he’s about to fall asleep standing up,” they said.
On the flip side, someone else posted: “I thought he did much better than I expected.”
