Sydney Sweeney just gave us an Old Hollywood glamor throwback in her latest magazine shoot. In it, the 28-year-old sports a Marilyn Monroe-esque hair ‘do, and is completely nude … except for the glittering, gold body paint she’s coated in.

Posing for W Magazine, Sydney glistened – quite literally – from head to toe. Her shiny blonde locks are styled into a bouncy blow-dry that could easily rival that of any Old Hollywood star, and her bare skin is painted in gold.
“So gorgeous,” one fan said on Instagram in response to the photoshoot. “This woman is golden!!” wrote someone else. Praise for Sydney in the comments section was few and far between, however. It was flooded with unfavorable GIFs and social media users calling out the Euphoria star. Perhaps, then, all that glitters is not gold.
“Lol, no bye,” an unhappy W Magazine reader commented in response. “Read the room, W Mag, jeez,” someone else wrote. “She’s flopping in everything. Is it her JEANS??” joked another.
Also, Sydney’s W Magazine cover comes after a difficult few months. Last year, she received backlash for a controversial American Eagle campaign she starred in, followed by more backlash for her response.
Shortly afterwards, Sydney’s much-anticipated boxing biopic – Christy – tanked at the box office. A number of celebrities, like Aimee Lou Wood and SZA, even called her out. But none of that seems to have had an impact on Sydney’s popularity, as far as some fans are concerned.
For the W Magazine shoot, dedicated to the year’s best performances, Sydney starred alongside plenty of other famous faces. Sydney’s Euphoria co-star, Jacob Elordi, is also featured in the piece, as is Frankenstein’s Mia Goth.
