Blake Lively Allegedly Set Justin Baldoni Up for a ‘Trap’ — Report

The legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues to escalate, and new messages paint an even more complicated picture of what happened behind the scenes of “It Ends With Us.” The messages surfaced during their ongoing court battle, alleging that Lively refused to use a body double for sex scenes. Their case now heads toward a May 18 trial date, and the latest revelations have only deepened the divide between Lively and Baldoni far more than netizens had realized.

Blake Lively allegedly refused to use a body double for sex scenes, claims a report

As per Page Six’s report, Justin Baldoni allegedly told his former agent that Blake Lively refused to use a body double for the film’s sex scenes. Moreover, Baldoni reportedly said her decision “was setting me up for a trap.” He claimed she pushed for him to use a double instead and shut down several ideas he had for the more intimate scenes. Besides, Baldoni told his agent that she wanted both actors to keep their clothes on during a major love scene, something he thought did not match the book.

A source close to Lively told Page Six that the texts left out important context. In that, the messages allegedly came only after Lively detailed several issues on set, including what she saw as a hostile work environment. The source added, “The text chain underscores Baldoni’s retaliatory intent.” Moreover, the source claimed that Baldoni had previously called the on‑set protections “reasonable” and “essential.”

The back and forth between the co-actors reportedly came on top of larger creative disputes, with sources claiming that they clashed throughout filming and during post-production. Moreover, an insider told Page Six that two separate edits of the film existed. Eventually, the studio went with what the source described as “a more feminine edit,” something that Lively approved.

The conflict became public when Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment, retaliation, and other claims. Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and Ryan Reynolds, but the court later dismissed it.
