The King’s Foundation shared plans for the extension at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire, Scotland. Established in 1990, the foundation will base its headquarters on the 300-year-old country estate.

According to its website, the foundation supports “education and sustainability, farming and agriculture, traditional arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, and architecture and urbanism.” In addition, they “provide education, public services and consultancy … in the UK and around the world.”

In her new Amazon Prime documentary, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision, actress Kate Winslet praises Charles’ commitment to creating environmentally sustainable communities.

The planned $8.7 million addition to the East Wing will be dubbed The King’s Hall. Scheduled to open in the summer of 2027, the space can accommodate catered events for up to 200 attendees. Furthermore, the extension will host community and education events, in line with the foundation’s core values.

Additionally, the new 4,628-square foot addition will feature a 3.035-square foot publice hall. The new hall will help “meet increasing demand for five-star events and bring more employment and education opportunities to the area.”

Inspired by the foundation’s vision, the revenue earned will help with conservation and development on the estate. The funds raised will also supplement educational and community programs used by over 10,000 people each year.

“The King’s Hall will be a true testament to the impact of His Majesty on Dumfries House and the vital education and employment it provides,” the executive director of the foundation said.
