There has been a lot of emotion and heartbreak amongst those working at the Today Show. Many have been shaken by the news of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Her daughter and co-host of the NBC program, Savannah Guthrie, has not been on the show since her mother went missing.
Savannah’s husband, Mike Feldman, recently visited those who work there. The former chief of staff for the ex-Vice President Al Gore was expressing his gratitude to everyone there who have offered their support during this difficult time. By all accounts, there weren’t many dry eyes amongst those who saw Mike.
Nancy Guthrie has now been missing for over three weeks
The emotions and worry over Nancy’s condition go far beyond just her family. An insider tells Page Six that when Mike visited, “he went around and thanked everyone and got a bunch of hugs.” They say the show is like a family, adding that “the tears were real, and [the colleagues] are struggling too.”
That description seems on par with what a former fill-in host, Andy Cohen, has said. The talk-show host still can’t believe what’s going on with Nancy, missing now for over three weeks. He adds that for staff on the show, the mood is “somber and sad.”
As for Savannah, sources say that she’s not in the right frame of mind to even respond to well-wishes. She and her siblings, though, have seen all the messages of love and prayers and appreciate them. Her husband has been travelling back and forth from New York to Tucson, Arizona, where Nancy was allegedly kidnapped.
Savannah’s previous message came in mid-February, calling on the public’s help to step forward and go to the police if you have any info on Nancy’s disappearance. There have been numerous ransom notes sent to news outlets, while the FBI has given a suspect description. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos says the timeline for finding Nancy is unpredictable.
