A convicted murderer is in hospital after an attack at a UK prison. Ian Huntley is said to have been the victim of an attack at a prison workshop. The Prison Service confirm that a prisoner at HMP Frankland is in hospital with the incident reportedly taking place on Thursday morning.
Ian is serving a life sentence for a murder in 2002. According to the Durham Constabulary, the person suspected of attacking Ian in jail is in his mid-40s.

Over two decades after his double murder, Ian is back in the news. According to The Sun, someone hit the Grimsby-born murderer in the head with a metal pole, reportedly containing a spike. Sources tell the news outlet that his condition is “touch and go.” When rushed to the hospital, Ian was reportedly in serious condition.
The deaths of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002 sent shockwaves across the UK. It took place in the quiet community of Soham, a small town in Cambridgeshire. Ian enticed the 10-year-old girls into his home in August of that year. After killing them, he dumped their bodies into a ditch about 12 miles away.
Ian is among the most high-profile inmates at the notorious jail. Well-known inmates tend to get their share of unwanted attention while behind bars. Among the biggest in the US is Ghislaine Maxwell, who is in prison for sex trafficking. A former inmate with Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend says that she had poor hygiene and got the nickname “Chomo” while there, which meant child molester. Jeffrey, who died in 2019, was a sex offender and pedophile.
Ian was convicted of the double murder in 2003 at the Old Bailey. Two weeks after disappearing, Holly and Jessica’s bodies were found close to an airbase in Lakenheath, Suffolk. During the trial, Ian said Holly died accidentally after allegedly falling into his bath while helping her with a nosebleed. He admitted to killing Jessica. He says that he put his hand over her mouth to stop her from screaming. Ian confessed to lying to the police to cover his tracks.
