Jonathan Majors may soon have a career resurgence — or has just given it the kiss of death, depending on the political persuasion of who you ask.
The former Marvel actor was dropped by his agency, following his 2023 arrest for the assault, harassment, and strangulation of his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Following a trial, Jonathan was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a charge of harassment as a violation. Additionally, a subsequent Variety report saw several more women come forward with allegations that the Emmy nominee had been abusive towards them.
Ben Shapiro and Jonathan Majors are working on a new film project
Now, Jonathan has been cast in an untitled film from conservative media company The Daily Wire.
Right-wing influencer and internet personality Ben Shapiro serves as a producer for the project. An exclusive report from Deadline states that the movie will begin shooting in South Carolina this week. Furthermore, this is Jonathan’s first film in four years, as he attempts to stage a comeback following his conviction.
The Lovecraft Country actor served a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program following the trial. His agency, Entertainment 360, and his public relations firm, The Lede Company, dropped him as a client. Additionally, Jonathan was fired from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he portrayed antagonist Kang the Conqueror. A film focused on the character, titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, was scrapped.
Jonathan’s new role, as well as the film’s plot and additional cast members, are currently under wraps. However, Variety reports the story is “in the vein of ’80s and ’90s action movies Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers.”
