Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Star Benzino Hospitalized After Allegedly Being Hit by Car

Allegedly, some baby mama drama landed Benzino from Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta in the hospital this week. The rapper turned reality star claims he was struck by a car after an altercation involving his ex-fiancée, Althea Eaton, and their son, Zino. Meanwhile, Althea offered up a totally different side to the story.

Benzino claims ex-fiancée Althea Eaton tried to kidnap their son

Let’s start with Benzino’s side of the story. TMZ got all of the details, and he told them that on Wednesday, February 25, Althea showed up at his house along with Diamond from Crime Mob. Reality TV fans will also remember Diamond from that short-lived Oxygen show, Sisterhood of Hip Hop.

According to Benzino, the pair pulled up at his house and nabbed Zino as he got off the school bus. He said that Diamond was driving and sideswiped him with her car as they pulled away from the scene. In his version of the story, he fell to the ground and hit his head on the side of the vehicle.

Benzino told TMZ that the police eventually pulled the ladies over, and Child Protective Services stepped in to return Zino to his dad. After the incident, Benzino went to the hospital in an ambulance, claiming his back had been injured. He shared pictures with the outlet showing him lying in a stretcher with a neck brace.

It’s a shocking claim from Benzino, but what’s even more shocking is how different Althea’s side of the story is. She spoke to the outlet and claimed Benzino has been keeping Zino away from her for months.

“This is a father who is keeping a child from his mother. He’s trying to make a mockery of this situation, but this is my livelihood. I haven’t seen my son in months, so I wanted to do a wellness check to lay eyes on my child,” Althea told the outlet.

On Instagram, Diamond and Althea shared even more on their version of events. In that video, Althea accused Benzino of withholding their son in a desperate attempt to avoid paying child support. Diamond, on the other hand, made it clear that she didn’t try to run him over.

Diamond said, “Nobody hit you with a motherf*cking car!”

The ladies also insisted that they were within their legal rights by being at the bus stop that day. Supposedly, the cops were there when everything went down, which means there could be body cam footage to prove who is lying. In the meantime, we just hope that the kid is okay.

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on MTV. You can also stream it on Paramount+.
