The relationship between Maura Higgins and Rob Rausch on The Traitors Season 4 has everyone talking. She blindly followed him to the finale, helping him secure a $220,800 prize pot. In the process, some fans thought they might have sparked a romantic connection. That might explain why she was so hopelessly devoted to everything he said.
Obviously, The Traitors isn’t a dating show, but it almost started to feel like we were watching one. During the Season 4 finale, they took a helicopter ride, held hands, and he looked her in the eyes and promised they’d cross the finish line together. However, Maura just set the record straight on their dynamic.

At the Traitors Season 4 reunion, Maura shot down the fan theories that she and Rob were having a romantic connection in the castle. According to her, their touchy-feely relationship was never actually flirtatious. Rob seemed to think that maybe there was just a teeny bit of flirting, but either way, Maura made it clear that there was no romance blossoming between them.
The Love Island star spoke more about their dynamic in an interview with Us Weekly. There, she claimed their dynamic was more of a sibling-like connection. Supposedly, she looked at him “like a brother.”
”Literally nothing ever happened,” Maura insisted, before adding more context to her on-screen behavior.
She explained, “People online are saying I’m ‘d*ckmatized.’ Believe me, you would know if I was d*ckmatized. If they think that’s me flirting, then they do not know me, and they have never watched me on Love Island.”
Further putting this shomance theory to bed, Rob dropped a bombshell at the reunion that he has a girlfriend these days. He’s currently off the market, and he and Maura are just friends. Still, he said he’s going to be buying her a Birkin bag as a consolation prize for her Season 4 loss.
“It’s proving way more difficult than I thought it would be, though,” he admitted.
