Season 4 of The Traitors has officially come to a close. Rob left the castle $220,800 richer, and the Faithful came up empty-handed. Maura and her wig played a central role in making that happen.

Had Maura seen through Rob’s lies, she would have been the key to the Faithful’s victory. Instead, she was hypnotized by the Love Islander to the very end and blindsided when he revealed himself as a Traitor. In The Traitors Season 4, Episode 12, “Reunion,” Andy Cohen assembled the cast to talk through it all.

Following Rob’s win, the Season 4 cast gathered to talk through the betrayal and backstabbing that earned him that $220,800 payday. He took a victory lap while a few of his former allies addressed some of his questionable moves in the game. Plus, Andy addressed some of the biggest headlines circling around Season 4’s cast, including Colton’s in-game behavior, cheating rumors, and that “hostage” comment he made towards Lisa.

After The Traitors Season 4 finale aired, social media lit up with memes about Maura and how she wasn’t wearing her “tinking” cap this season. At the reunion, it was clear that she was feeling the same way. She called herself “dumb” so many times that it was impossible to count. With every self-deprecating comment came at least one person in the cast trying their hardest to sound encouraging, telling her, “No, you’re not dumb!”

Regardless, Maura said she felt “embarrassed for herself” watching how things unfolded and how her blind loyalty to Rob helped him win. She also said that there wasn’t any flirting happening between them, but the jury is still out on that.

Maura said that the only way Rob can get back on her good side is by buying her a Birkin with his prize money. His new girlfriend probably won’t be thrilled by that.

Of course, Maura wasn’t the only person who was blindsided and betrayed by Rob. Every Traitor on stage (except for poor Mama Kelce, who was just happy to be there) got thrown under the bus by Rob at some point in the game. Naturally, Candiace had the most to say about how things played out.

Candiace addressed the Rob and Colton cheating theories

Real Housewives of Potomac fans know that Candiace doesn’t hold back at reunions, and this Traitors reunion was no different. She took Rob to task and made it very clear that she didn’t like the way he betrayed the OG Traitors in the game.

She told him, “You literally wanted to go to the end by yourself, and I’d respect you more if you just said that.”

Candiace also took a moment to address a theory that has been circulating around online. Fans think that Rob broke the rules and outed the Traitors to Colton. Supposedly, Colton even told Candiace that Rob revealed to him that she was a Traitor.

If true, it would have been a rule-breaking offense, but both guys said they didn’t do it. Rob barely wanted to entertain anything Candiace was throwing at him. Meanwhile, Colton said he had too much competitive integrity to try to cheat. This theory can be put to rest.

Did Lisa send Colton running off stage at the Traitors Season 4 reunion?

The main thing we were looking out for in this reunion was the dynamic between Colton and Lisa. Of course, they had tension in the castle, but that spilled out into the real world when the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum branded him as a “stalker” in reference to his past with Cassie Randolph from The Bachelor.

After the reunion was filmed, insiders said that Lisa dragged him so badly that he had to walk off stage and collect himself. We didn’t see any of that here. Either the editors worked a whole lot of magic, or somebody grossly exaggerated.

Rinna did, however, address Colton’s “hostage” comments that he made on the show. She thought it was a poor choice of words, but Colton wasn’t ready to apologize on that—especially since Rinna said she wanted to “slit his f*cking throat.”

Cotlon made the case that in the context of his show, his choice of words wasn’t horrible. He also defended his aggressive style of gameplay, and it doesn’t sound like he has any regrets about the way he played the game. It definitely got him a lot of screentime.

Throughout Season 4, Colton faced a massive wave of backlash from fans who felt like his aggressive style of gameplay mirrored the headlines we saw about him after his season of The Bachelor. The “hostage” comment certainly didn’t help.

Things got so intense online that Peacock released a statement encouraging fans to dial back the rhetoric. At the reunion, Andy gave Colton a chance to address the feedback.

“I had an incredibly difficult couple of years, and I’ve grown, and I’ve changed,” Colton said of his previous scandals.

He continued, “I’ve put in so much work into myself and into my family, and I never really thought that the way I would show up and play Traitors would be linked to one of the darkest and most horrible moments of my life.”

Colton admitted that he could understand why Traitors fans were revisiting his past as the season played out. Still, he said it felt “challenging” to navigate the backlash and being reminded of such a low point in his life.

Rapaport embarrassed himself again

Of course, Colton wasn’t the only cast member receiving backlash in Season 4. Rapaport also got hit with a well-deserved wave of criticism following his problematic comments both on and off the show.

He previously teased that he might skip the reunion, hoping to avoid more mess. We really wish he had just stayed home because he added absolutely nothing to an episode already stretched thin for content.

In the span of five minutes, Michael attacked Johnny and dismissed the homophobic roundtable comment that led to his banishment. Anytime someone tried to respond to Michael, he tried to channel his inner Dorinda by saying “Clip!”

Fans cringed through every second of it, and we were once again reminded that this man should have never been on the show in the first place. Even Andy had to remind him that this was not a Housewives reunion, Porsha had to remind him that he’s out of his league, either way.

As we follow the cha-cha line out of Season 4 and look ahead to the future of The Traitors, let’s hope there’s a lesson learned from these major casting mistakes. Big personalities are needed. Toxic men aren’t.

The Traitors is streaming on Peacock.
