Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are unsurprisingly still reeling from their parents’ involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been stripped of his royal titles and arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office. Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson has been noticeably MIA since the Epstein files were released.
But, although the sisters are united in their grief over the ordeal, an insider has revealed they are taking “hugely divergent approaches” in handling it publicly.
A report says the sisters face a “fresh blow” with “each fresh Epstein disclosure”
“Each fresh Epstein disclosure feels like a fresh blow for the sisters,” the source told Radar Online. “It’s completely emotionally exhausting for them.”
To that end, the insider said there’s a “deep frustration” over how much the controversy is “overshadowing” the pair’s lives.
“There’s embarrassment, but also a great deal of sadness,” they added. “At the same time, they’re realistic. They understand that how they respond now … and the image they project will shape their long-term standing. They’re thinking carefully about every step.”
Although Beatrice and Eugenie agree on that, the way they are choosing to deal with the scandal in public differs.
“Beatrice has always had a fiercely loyal streak, especially when it comes to her father,” the insider said. “Her instinct is to stand by Andrew and show solidarity, regardless of the public backlash. She feels that turning away in difficult moments would only deepen the fracture.”
On the other hand, the insider said, “Eugenie is taking a more cautious approach.”
“Her priority is protecting her husband and children, and preserving the credibility she has built in her own career,” they claimed. “For her, creating some physical and symbolic distance is not about disloyalty, it’s about stability and shielding her immediate family from further fallout.”
Neither of the princesses have spoken out about the Epstein files yet, and inclusion or mention is not an indication of any wrongdoing.
