This morning, Real Housewives of Orange County star Deborah Windham announced the death of her husband Dr. Brian Herman. Dr. Deb, the mother of RHOC alum Braunwyn Windham-Burke, shared that he had been diagnosed with brain cancer in January.
In honor of her late husband, Deb posted a video montage on her Instagram feed, along with loving words of tribute. “Rest in peace king,” she wrote. ““Seen you soon my beautiful man. Taken too early. We really lived! None of this seems real … 44 years.”
“I’m so grateful for what you’ve gifted me, our children, the world,” she continued. “You’re at peace my beloved, these last months have been so hard for you, as you peeled back layer after layer of identity and ego, you were never afraid for yourself, only concerned about us.”
Dr. Deb’s husband Dr. Brian Herman has died
“A week in the life of a family weathering a storm,” Deb captioned. “Remembering that all storms pass, sometimes leaving devastation in its wake… and we rebuild.“
As his illness progressed, Brian had been wheelchair bound and unable to speak. Remembering him as he was, Dr. Deb’s tribute featured photos and clips of her husband smiling, dancing and laughing.
In the comments section, Deb’s fans sent condolences and words of support.
“Dr. Deb my heart is broken hearing this news of your beloved,” wrote one follower. “Sending all my love and deepest condolences … may Brian’s soul fly free.”
Another fan referenced a Hebrew saying for mourners: “Baruch Dayan Haemet. Sending lots of love and strength to you and the kids.”
“My heart aches for you, but I also believe in eternity!” a third fan shared. “Love is forever and continues to grow. Prayers and loving thoughts for each of you … We are surrounding you and your family in prayers, love, thoughts, and hugs.”
In conclusion, Dr. Deb ended her heartfelt tribute saying, “The world has lost a powerful healer, a good human, a funny soul.”
Meanwhile, in the midst of sadness, Deb’s granddaughter recently announced some happy news. Braunwyn’s daughter Bella is expecting her first child with her husband Douglas Tuohy. Life goes on.
