Caroline Stanbury still feels safer in Dubai than she does in the U.S. despite the tensions with Iran.
At the moment, she’s stuck in Los Angeles. While she’s anxious to get back to her family, The Real Housewives of Dubai alum is stranded. There are currently no flights available to Dubai.
“I am on the first flight, which is the 15th,” she said. “There are no direct flights from LA until the 15th, so I’m on that.”
The Real Housewives of Dubai star still feels safer there than in America
Currently, The Traitors alum is staying with a friend in LA along with her husband Sergio Carrallo. In constant communication with her twin sons in Dubai, she’s reassured that they’re safe. Furthermore, she’s grateful her boys have managed to stay calm despite what’s happening around them.
“I’m comfortable now because my ex-husband [Cem Habib] is with the children,” she told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea. “They’re all together. So it’s not like … they were home alone.”
“Obviously I know the severity of the situation, but thank god, being teenagers, they’re like, ‘Mom, calm down. We’re fine,’” she laughed. “So it wasn’t like they were in this giant disaster zone … while I was sitting over here in LA.”
Caroline feels safer in Dubai than she does in the U.S. with its gun violence. “There were 600 missiles, 500 drones intercepted,” she continued. “I was in Austin on the first of March, 24 hours before the mass shooting. So in all of this war so far, we have had three deaths.” [Since her interview, PBS reported that six people died and 122 were wounded in Dubai.]
“I think there were 14 people injured in Austin,” she added. “I’m not sure how many people died. And there’s been two other shootings since then in America. So let’s just put it in perspective. I still feel safer [in Dubai] than I do in most European or American cities right now.”
The Real Housewives of Dubai is available to stream on Peacock.
