After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 to move to the US, things went downhill, especially after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex interviewed with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, revealing the reason behind their major decision.
Looking at the turn of events, a royal author, Tom Bower, has made a bombshell claim in his new book, “Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family.” In extracts of Bower’s book published in The Times of London, the author claimed that Queen Camilla once told a friend that, “Meghan’s brainwashed Harry.”
Bower also alleged that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton “evidently saw Meghan as a threat rather than an ally” as tensions soared ahead of the Sussexes’ decision to leave the royal family for a life in the US. The author even claimed that Meghan became a “divisive agent.”
But as per NBC News, in a statement issued, Harry and Meghan said Bower “has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation.” “This is someone who has publicly stated, ‘the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,’ language that speaks for itself.”
The couple further added that the author has “made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met.” “Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those seeking deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him,” the statement read.
