ABC ‘Face Losing $40 to $50 Million’ After Taylor Frankie Paul’s Cancelled Bachelorette Season

Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.

The launch of Season 22 of The Bachelorette was mired in scandal thanks to Taylor Frankie Paul. The MomTok creator and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, are involved in an open domestic abuse investigation.

However, when an upsetting video from 2023 surfaced of Taylor physically assaulting Dakota, it seemed to be the final straw for ABC. Just days before the series was set to premiere, The Bachelorette was shelved amid the controversy. And ABC is literally paying the price.

The network has “already lost a lot of money”

An insider told US Weekly, “ABC is livid over the situation. Taylor had a breach of contract, and they are internally investigating.” The source added that several companies had pulled their ads from The Bachelorette premiere amid the disturbing drama.

In addition, the insider alleged, “They have already lost a lot of money. They face losing $40 to 50 million now that they’ve canceled.” Plus, Taylor’s ex, Dakota, allegedly previously contacted ABC to make them aware of Taylor’s history of abuse.

Following The Bachelorette’s cancellation, Taylor issued a statement, saying in part, “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”

The Bachelorette and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are streaming on Hulu and Disney+
