Bravo’s decision to hit pause on The Real Housewives of Miami has left fans completely baffled. We’re all crossing our fingers that we don’t have to wait another eight years to see these legendary women back on our screens, but in the meantime, Alexia Nepola is reflecting on the journey. She just took to Instagram with a solid reminder that representation still matters.
Alexia Nepola says Real Housewives of Miami was more “than just reality television”
An original cast member, Alexia has appeared on all seven seasons of RHOM, taking fans into her glamorous and chaotic life that oftentimes felt like a real-life soap opera. Now that Bravo has decided to pull the plug, she took to Instagram with a heartfelt message to fans, along with some throwback cast photos going all the way back to Season 1.
“As a proud Latina, being part of a platform like RHOM on Bravo has always meant more to me than just reality television—it’s meant visibility, representation, and having a voice,” Alexia began, likely with a little help from ChatGPT.
She added, “Hearing that the show is currently on pause is disheartening, and it’s hard not to feel the weight of that.”
Alexia went on to reflect on how RHOM played an “important role” in celebrating Latina voices. It’s an underrepresented demographic on Bravo, so removing this beautifully diverse franchise looks like a step in the wrong direction. Still, Alexia said she felt hopeful for the future.
“I’m staying positive, present, and hopeful for what’s ahead,” Alexia added.
Here’s to hoping that Bravo unpauses Real Housewives of Miami sooner than later. If not, they could always jump ship and go to a different network like other on-pause Housewives. Either way, Alexia knows that we haven’t seen the last of her.
She wrote, “This isn’t goodbye … it’s simply see you soon.”
The Real Housewives of Miami is streaming on Peacock.
