We’re all pouring out a mojito on behalf of the Real Housewives of Miami cast. As you’ve probably heard by now, Bravo has hit pause on the beloved franchise, and Season 8 is not coming soon. It’s a terrible time to be a RHOM fan, but in the meantime, Lisa Hochstein is here to remind you that a “pause” is not the same thing as “cancellation.”
RHOM is “paused temporarily,” according to Lisa Hochstein

With the same vigor as Dorinda Medley claiming she wasn’t fired from The Real Housewives of New York, Lisa is claiming that RHOM isn’t canceled. It’s just a pause!
“Guys RHOM is not cancelled,” Lisa wrote on Threads.
She continued, “Sure it’s paused temporarily, but there are a number of important factors about why this decision was made. Yes, there will be changes. But MIAMI isn’t going anywhere.”
Lisa noted that there were “important factors” at play, but what exactly she’s referring to remains unclear. No one from Bravo has publicly commented on the reason for the pause, but the Variety article that originally broke the story noted how RHOM was the least-watched show in the Housewives universe.
Meanwhile, some fans believe that Todd Nepola could be the reason for this hiatus. The ex-husband of Lisa’s co-star, Alexia Nepola, filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit after Season 7 wrapped. He claimed that the show intentionally aired defamatory comments about him and specifically called out Adriana de Moura. He dropped the lawsuit two months after filing it.
Whether you want to blame it on the low ratings, a scheme that this other Todd set up, or some other reason, we’re going to have to wait before we see our Miami Housewives back on TV. If Lisa is to be believed, they’ll be back. Let’s just hope it’s not another eight-year pause like last time.
The Real Housewives of Miami is streaming on Peacock.
