Country singer and former Bachelorette contestant James McCoy Taylor has been arrested in connection to a 2024 case. He was previously charged with assault causing bodily injury and it looks like he may have missed some court payments. It looks like the drama surrounding The Bachelorette isn’t stopping anytime soon.

Bachelor Nation is certainly taking a beating in the media recently. The latest season of The Bachelorette was taken off the air before premiering thanks to the controversy surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul. And now, a former Bachelorette contestant has been arrested.
James participated in Season 12 of the show, vying for the heart of Jojo Fletcher. Online records show that the singer was arrested Friday on a warrant from Texas. TMZ reported that he was arrested and released the same day on a $10,000 surety bond.
The one-time Bachelorette contestant was originally arrested and charged for an incident that involved a 19-year-old college student. Police say that James groped and forcibly kissed the woman and threw her to the ground as she tried to leave an apartment.
James pled guilty in 2025 and was sentenced to $1,000 in fines and court costs along with 80 hours of community service and anger management classes. He was also forbidden from having contact with the victim and from going to the Northgate Entertainment District.
Unfortunately, James must have missed some court-ordered payments last year. In February, a warrant was issued and was executed last Friday.
When he’s not having problems with the law, James focuses on music and sharing his opinion on social media. He is living in Colorado with his partner and children.
