Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Neighbors Stay Distant — Source

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s neighbors have reportedly been distant from the Sussex couple. A source claimed that people living near the pair’s Montecito home have allegedly been giving a cold shoulder. As per the report, the chilly reception has seemingly been “years in the making.”

For those unversed, the duke and duchess left the UK and their royal duties in 2020. They moved to California to build their new home with their children. While they adapted to their surroundings, their neighbors might not have entirely accepted them.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s neighbors would reportedly “avoid” meeting them. A source told Page Six that their cold reception towards the Sussexes was nothing new. According to them, the couple’s Montecito neighborhood would allegedly “not want to be seen with them.”

“It’s not hate. It’s just a growing awareness that they’re takers with zero self-awareness. Everyone’s exhausted by them,” the insider claimed. In 2020, Harry and Markle left the royal palace in the UK and moved to the $14.65 million Montecito mansion.

Meanwhile, another source close to the couple said something different. They claimed that the duke and duchess reportedly have a “great relationship” with their neighbors. Furthermore, the “Spare” author and his wife seemingly “love” and care for their community.

However, a neighbor spoke about Markle and Harry in the German documentary “Harry: The Lost Prince” in December 2024. Named Richard Mineards, he stated that the “Suits” alum was not an “asset” to their community. Comparing the husband and wife, he said Harry was “quite jolly,” while Markle would allegedly not “get involved” in the neighborhood.

Aside from this, Harry and Markle have reportedly upset Kate Middleton. An earlier report suggested that the Princess of Wales would want to speak with her brother-in-law. She would likely want the duchess to stop “attacking the institution.”
