The ladies of new Bravo franchise The Real Housewives of Rhode Island are serious about the importance of family. So serious, in fact, that one member of the cast actually married a member of her family.
For example, new RHORI cast member Liz McGraw doesn’t hide the fact that she and her husband Gerry McGraw were already related before they got married.
Liz McGraw and husband Gerry are related “somewhere down the line”
“Gerry and I were married about six months,” she explained in a preview of RHORI. “That was when, you know, the whole Ancestry DNA thing was blowing up … If you look at Gerry and you look at me, no one’s ever gonna say we’re related. But we are related, somewhere down the line.”
Liz and Gerry live in Cranston, R.I., along with their cat Ganji. “When I met Gerry, he told me he had three girls, and they were little,” Liz says in a confessional. “I was not prepared to be a mom. School, uniforms, hair, baths, lunches.”
But Liz is no shrinking violet. “Everyone always says I’m blunt, and I bite people’s heads off,” she admits. “I can be ‘scary.'”
Castmate Alicia Carmody, who’s known Liz all her life, affirms that Liz can be intimidating. “I’ve known Liz since I was born,” she says in her own confessional. “But sometimes, Liz makes me nervous. She’s definitely a queen: Queen Elizabeth.
Not only is Liz a queen, but in her bio for Season 1, she calls herself the “cannabis queen.” She and Gerry own a cannabis dispensary. “We were one of the first to open [in the country],” Liz told The Daily Dish. “I did everything from crack the seeds, to harvest, to learn how to grow in different ways. I designed the whole place.”
Furthermore, Liz and her close friend, returning Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dolores Catania are going into business together. They have plans to launch a line of gummies for menopausal women.
The Real Housewives of Rhode Island premieres Thursday, April 2 on Bravo. It will stream on Peacock the following day.
