Summer House Season 10 Episode 9 Preview: Carl Radke Confronts Kyle Cooke

There’s no better time to discuss complicated friendships and financial crises than when you’re dressed up like old people at a birthday party. That’s exactly what Kyle Cooke and Carl Radke are up to in this sneak peek of Summer House Season 10 Episode 9.

All summer long, Carl has been in his feelings over Kyle’s lack of investment in his non-alcoholic business, Soft Bar. He decided to try to “clear the air” during Kyle’s senior citizen-themed 43rd birthday party. We’re not sure if the air is clear, but you can be the judge.

Carl was disappointed Kyle didn’t invest in his non-alcoholic bar

Obviously, Carl helped Kyle with Loverboy, so he expected the same in return when he launched Soft Bar. Kyle didn’t invest, and Carl pulled him aside at the birthday party to try to get to the bottom of it.

“So the Soft Bar investment thing has kind of come up among folks, and I was kind of a little sad about it, to be honest,” Carl told Kyle, silver hair and all.

He continued, “Because remember, like, when you were getting Loverboy going? I know it wasn’t a ton of money back then, but you’ve given me so many opportunities professionally and just been so supportive. So like, having you involved in some way is important to me.”

Kyle understood where Carl was coming from. He couldn’t “blame” his friend for feeling that way about the investment. However, Kyle had to be realistic. He can’t afford to invest in Soft Bar when Loverboy is on the brink of a financial disaster.

“My wallet’s way too deep in Loverboy,” Kyle admitted, reiterating that the business could go under.

He explained, “Last month alone, before our loan payment, we lost 175 grand, and our loan payment is 150 grand a month.”

Kyle said that the Loverboy situation felt “the most stressful thing” imaginable. Apparently, even his wife, Amanda Batula, wasn’t aware of how bad things had become. If things don’t improve, he said Loverboy could be bankrupt within three months.

The truth of the matter is that Kyle can’t invest money he doesn’t have, but Carl still didn’t seem satisfied by that answer. In a confessional, he accused Kyle of “bitching” about his financial issues and hijacking the conversation. Clearly, this isn’t the last we’ve heard of this.

Summer House airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
