The issues surrounding Tiger Woods surely need to be dealt with. That’s one doctor’s opinion following the golfer’s DUI arrest on Friday. Dr. Drew Pinsky has worked with his share of high-profile clients on various celebrity rehab shows.
Drew believes that the three-time US Open champion is in a difficult position right now. Tiger has a history of arrests for DUI, rolling his car over in a frightening crash in Jupiter Island, Florida last week. Tiger had just competed in the TGL finals days earlier. He was released on bail from Martin County Jail on Friday evening.
The medical pro talked about addiction
All the medication Tiger is on may need to cease. Dr. Drew believes that is the only way to fully understand exactly what the legendary golfer may be going through. In an interview with TMZ, Drew says that Tiger is “in an extra difficult situation of chronic pain and addiction.” Tiger just returned to the links last week after over a year away to treat an injury. In October, Tiger underwent surgery to replace a lumbar disk, while he also had surgery to fix his ruptured Achilles last year.
Drew wonders if all the pain medication doctors have prescribed to him is becoming too much for Tiger. He appears to be pointing the finger squarely in the direction of the medical professionals who’ve been treating Tiger. Drew claims that the athlete has “not gotten proper care, and he’s been ill-served.” Rather than throwing the book at Tiger with severe punishments, Drew believes he needs “sympathy, concern, prayers.”
The latest issues surrounding Tiger have caused considerable concern among those who know him. On her Instagram story, Tiger’s ex-girlfriend, Kristin Smith, said her family is dealing with “anxiety and fear” about someone contacting them about this.
In 2017, Tiger was arrested for DUI, agreeing to enter a first-time offender program.
