Once again rumors are flying about former actress turned royal, Meghan Markle.
British writer Tom Bower believes that Meghan had higher aspirations in the royal family than being a mere duchess. During his March 27 interview on the Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered podcast, Tom discussed the Sussexes in great depth. His new book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, revisits their time inside the monarchy and their eventual exit.
“She really thought she, rather than Kate [Middleton], should be the next queen after [the death of King] Charles,” he said. “She couldn’t understand why, [when] she was better looking, … more intelligent, harder working, and everything, [she shouldn’t] be the queen. And she hated the idea that she and Harry were relegated so far down the order … That’s why, of course, she never intended to stay.”

In addition, the former BBC journalist claimed that a courtier told Queen Elizabeth, “Megan thinks once she marries into the royal family, she’s going to be God. Which is pretty hilarious, but clearly, she believed it.”
Furthermore, the book claims now-Queen Camilla wasn’t a fan of Meghan’s either. Allegedly, she once told a friend that Meghan had “brainwashed [Prince] Harry.”
In the book, the author touches on other royal issues, including ex-Prince Andrew’s unfortunate ties to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. “The unpredicted and unimagined humiliation of Andrew shocked Harry,” Tom wrote. “Rightly, Harry fears that the future King William could remove all the Sussexes’ titles and effectively banish him from Britain.”
Unsurprisingly, the couple wasted no time responding to the claims. “[Bower’s] commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation,” they said in a statement.
“He publicly stated, ‘the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life’,” the couple responded. “He has made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met. Those interested in facts will look elsewhere.”
