Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 5 ‘Up in the Air,’ Claims Chase McWhorter

Trigger Warning: This article contains a discussion of domestic violence allegations.

The cast of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives seems to thrive in chaos. As you may know, Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen’s domestic abuse investigation led to filming on the series being paused. And now Chase McWhorter is sharing what he knows about the future of SLOMW.

After the domestic violence allegations dropped, filming for Season 5 stopped and hasn’t resumed yet. Meanwhile, Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette was shelved amid the troubling investigations. Now, the future of SLOMW hangs in the balance. So, will the series continue?

Could SLOMW Season 5 be shelved for good?

The tumultuous relationship between Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota, was heavily featured in the series. Plus, rumors have been swirling that Jen Affleck is set to helm a SLOMW spin-off, which will follow a Mormon friend group in Orange County, California. Plus, there is more drama within the cast.

Jessi Draper’s husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, filed for divorce. Then Jessi and Chase reportedly kissed at a party. The problem? MomTok OG Miranda McWhorter, who stars with Jessi in SLOMW, was married to Chase. However, as an apology, Jessi sent Miranda flowers and a card apologizing. I’m speechless.

Recently, Chase was a guest on Harry Jowsey’s Boyfriend Material podcast. He confirmed that cameras are still down amid SLOMW’s pause. As for when filming of Season 5 will resume?

“I think that’s kind of up in the air at this point. Hoping they do,” Chase explained. “All the other women have a bunch of great stories and story lines that haven’t been told. I think that’s a great thing they could look into.” The DadTok member added, “So I think they should, but we’ll see.”

Time will tell if SLOMW moves forward, and who from the cast will return.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is streaming on Hulu.
