Queen Elizabeth Made Fun of Donald Trump’s ‘Silent’ Wife Melania, Author Claims

Queen Elizabeth II reportedly made fun of Donald Trump’s wife, First Lady Melania Trump, according to the book The Queen and Her Presidents, by Susan Page. The Queen met with Trump and his wife at Windsor Castle in July 2018, during his first term. At that time, Trump publicly praised the monarch.

According to a report by Page Six, the author of the book The Queen and Her Presidents, Susan Page, recently claimed in her book that Queen Elizabeth joked about Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, after their meeting.

The report states that the Queen described Melania as “silent and remote.” She also allegedly compared the First Lady to the late actress Greta Garbo and once said the actress’s line “I want to be alone” in reference to Melania. Trump and Queen Elizabeth met again in June 2019 during a formal state visit.

Following the Queen’s passing, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he and the First Lady were “saddened” to hear the news. He went on to express his admiration for the Queen’s leadership skills and added that he and Melania will cherish the meetings that happened with the monarch and will always remember “Her Majesty’s generous friendship, great wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor.” (via The New York Post)

Reports also state that the book claims that Trump, on many occasions, tried to know the Queen’s reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan leaving the Royal Family. According to a report by Sky News, Trump told the author, “I asked her about it constantly. She would always say, ‘No, no, would be lovely, lovely.’ But it wasn’t lovely, and I think it hurt her. It was tremendous dissension, and I just don’t think they treated her with the respect that she should have, frankly.”
