It looks like the end of spin-offs for Selling Sunset. There is now news that Netflix is shutting the doors on another luxury real estate series spin-off. Selling the City will not be returning for another season. This is bad news for fans of the Big Apple drama, but it seems to just be the next step in the network consolidating its real estate show efforts.
The Netflix reality show has been cancelled
According to TMZ, sources with direct knowledge said the decision to cancel the reality show is part of Netflix’s overarching strategy to keep its focus on just one real estate franchise. The main focus will be on Selling Sunset. Selling the OC has also reportedly paused filming.
Selling the City premiered in January 2025 as the next part of the Selling Sunset universe. The series followed an elite group of agents navigating luxury real estate in the Big Apple.
Needless to say, drama ensued, as is the case with all real estate reality shows. Fans were intrigued by newbie Jade Chan and her power struggles with Eleonora Srugo and her feud with Abigail Godfrey. It’s a pity we won’t get another season to explore their relationships again.
This just means viewers will now focus on Selling Sunset. Season 10 of the hit show is going through a bit of a cast shake-up with Chrishell Stause’s departure. In the wake of this, Christine Quinn, the show’s former villain, is set to make a triumphant comeback.
She hasn’t 100% confirmed this yet, but it should definitely be interesting. Taping for the latest season is scheduled to start filming in late April or May.
That’s something to look forward to even as we say goodbye to Selling the City.
Selling Sunset and Selling the City are streaming on Netflix.
