During a conversation at NewsNation’s CUOMO, Stephen A. Smith shared his thoughts on the latest controversial image posted by Donald Trump on Truth Social. In the now-deleted post, he was dressed in a white robe, appearing to bless an ill patient. He was surrounded by two military officials, one nurse, and a praying woman. The AI-generated picture drew massive backlash, which prompted the president to delete it.
Smith commented on his image, saying, “He’s a pathological liar.” Speaking about the concerning situation around Trump’s repeated false remarks, he added, “Let’s just call it what it is. He’s the president of the United States. I don’t mean to get that way, but my God, the lies just continue to just flow out his mouth, flowing flippantly off the tongue with a level of just seamlessness that’s incredibly alarming.”
The POTUS, however, did provide an explanation and intent behind the now-deleted controversial image. Trump revealed that he posted the image, wanting to be perceived as a doctor and not God. “And it had to do with the Red Cross as a Red Cross worker, which we support. And only the fake news could come up with that one,” he elaborated.
The image came right after Trump called out Pope Leo about his comments on the ongoing Iran war. He called Pope Leo “WEAK on crime and terrible for foreign policy.”
