Shannon Storms Beador has often been a lightning rod (pun intended) on The Real Housewives of Orange County. From numerous feuds, piping hot drama, and questionable decisions, she’s certainly had fans going hard for her and against her over the last 12 years. However, as the milestone RHOC Season 20 continues and the backlash builds, perhaps it’s important to ask whether it’s time to quell the storm (so to speak).
Which isn’t to say that Shannon hasn’t been entertaining. Many viewers have praised her for her authenticity and not being afraid to speak her mind or toss her plate. But 12 years later, are the feuds, misunderstandings, and fighting just too much?
Some viewers think so, and producers have even allegedly told her to cool it. Add that to recent criticism against Shannon, which appears to be reaching a fever pitch. While the RHOC star has denied several allegations, the question remains: Is it time for Shannon to take a step back?
Shannon Beador’s latest feuds are becoming harder to dismiss
One very glaring point of contention is that Shannon always seems to be feuding with someone. She often won’t let things go, recalls old hurts, and sometimes spirals, making things bigger than they need to be.
On RHOC, Shannon has famously feuded with several castmates. She has had beef with Kelly Dodd, Meghan King, Katie Ginella, and Alexis Bellino, just to name a few. She’s even gotten into it with newly returned RHOC star Vicki Gunvalson, though the pair has since reconciled.
As it stands, Shannon has a tenuous friendship with Heather Dubrow. They’ve had their highs and lows over the years, but there seems to be growing friction between these frenemies in Season 20, and much of it stems from trust issues.
And last but definitely not least, Shannon’s biggest feud is still with former Tres Amigas pal Tamra Judge. They’ve gone through years of friendship, betrayal, fighting, and then rinse and repeat. Recently, though, the reconciliation part isn’t working out like it used to. Despite a rickety truce this season, they had another major blowup during The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th. We’ve not seen it just yet, but it’s supposedly AWFUL.
Granted, Shannon’s not feuding with herself. The fights aren’t one-sided. But what separates Shannon from many of the other Housewives is that she often juggles multiple feuds at once. And after several years of being the central figure in many personal blowouts on the show, fans have started pointing out that being consistently at the heart of RHOC’s conflicts may not be the flex it used to be.
From Rodrigo Reyes to RHOC insiders, the criticism keeps piling up
Sadly for Shannon, the calls aren’t just coming from inside the house. While Shannon’s co-stars may regularly call her out on her behavior, more people outside of the RHOC cast have started to do the same.
One of the criticisms leveled at Shannon came during her time on Love Hotel. The host of the show, comedian Joel Kim Booster, shared that Shannon was one of the most difficult people he’s worked with. He called her a “pathetic drunk” who treated people she worked with as “subhuman.”
Shannon denied this and said she had no idea where his accusations came from. And in the end, he apologized to her and said his comments may have gone too far.
However, fans have revisited his assessment in the wake of more people pointing out Shannon’s questionable behavior. Other stars in the Bravosphere have talked about their less-than-stellar experiences with the RHOC star. Rodrigo Reyes of Southern Charm said Shannon was “very rude” to him during BravoCon 2025. Shannon denied this on Watch What Happens Live.
But, unlike Joel, Rodrigo doubled down. He commented on a meme about Shannon’s Mariah Carey moment of saying she didn’t know who he was by replying, “Guess you can’t remember every nobody you make rude comments towards.”
And it doesn’t end there. Comedian Heather McDonald made a video about Shannon’s recurring “clumsiness” bit (something Teddi Mellencamp also recently called out). In the comments of her post, former Real Housewives producer Patrick McDonald wrote that it was “wild” seeing Shannon lose her sh*t and cuss out producers, to suddenly falling into her performative “schtick” once the cameras began to roll.
Is it time for Shannon Beador to be fired from the Real Housewives of Orange County cast?
It looks like Shannon’s behavior is coming home to roost. Which leaves us with the inevitable question — is it time for the RHOC cast to move forward without her? Admittedly, she has been an integral part of the show for many years, but she’s also a regular point of controversy, and it appears to be getting worse.
Whether it’s Tamra, Heather, Emily, former castmates, comedians, podcasters, or even fans online questioning Shannon’s restaurant etiquette, controversy seems to follow her around. At what point does being a purveyor of conflict go from making you indispensable to making you exhausting? Perhaps it’s time to take a break.
