Megyn Kelly calls out Sydney Sweeney’s Euphoria scene

Megyn Kelly slammed Sydney Sweeney over a controversial baby scene in “Euphoria season 3”. Kelly blasted Sweeney on the April 14 episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show”. She retorted, “She’s in a baby’s outfit. She’s sucking on a binky pacifier, and her legs are completely spread,” (via US Weekly).

Furthermore, she berated the depiction of Sweeney dressed as a baby and termed it “sexualizing infancy.” Kelly explained, “I think this is another example, guys, of Hollywood not understanding at all where the line is and how most normal people are going to recoil, even Sydney Sweeney fans, in response to what’s essentially the s**ualization of a child, of a baby.”

The 55-year-old said the scene “seems to be wanting to bring down your defenses on the most disgusting crime imaginable on Earth.” After blasting the show, Kelly proceeded to slam Sweeney for agreeing to be part of this scene.

The former Fox personality stated, “I can’t believe she agreed to this.” Kelly even slammed “The Housemaid” actor over another scene where she is “dressed as a dog being led around on a leash.”

Finally, Kelly slammed showrunner Sam Levinson for conceptualizing such a scene. She called him a “sick jerk” for overs**ualizing a teen-drama series. Interestingly, Levinson previously defended the controversial scene in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. He shared, “What we wanted to always find is the other layer of absurdity that we’re able to tie into it so that we’re not too inside her fantasy or illusion — the gag is to jump out, to break the wall.”

Previously, the 28-year-old actress spoke about her character Cassie in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Sweeney shared, “She will do anything and at all costs to be famous this season, and she makes a lot of very wild, interesting choices. In true Cassie fashion! She will not disappoint, that’s for sure.”
