Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. shared a stage at this year’s CinemaCon for Avengers: Doomsday. The duo last starred together in Avengers: Endgame in 2019, and will reunite for Doomsday this year. Evans joined Downey Jr. on stage, and the pair staged some faux awkwardness as fan service to their fans. The Captain America star said, “Hey, pal.” To which the Iron Man star replied, “Things are still a little tense.”

Needless to say, fans loved their wholesome bond with a dash of humor and playfulness. The Marvel Studios video garners 42K likes, 5.7K retweets, 2.7K bookmarks, and 905 comments. One fan quipped, “Avengers: Doomsday”?! Are they TRYING to bankrupt me from all the opening-night tickets I’m about to buy?!” A second fan remarked, “It’s going to be epic,” with a GIF of the Iron Man star.

A third fan commented, “That feeling when you know you’ve cooked a film that will smash the box office and glue the world to their screens.” A fourth fan wrote, “Hey pal…” I see what you did there. Whether he’s holding the shield or a new mantle, the MCU just feels right when Evans is on stage. Let’s hope Doom is ready for them. Finally, one fan penned, “The bros are back together.”

Downey teased the crowd by stating, “What I want to do is give away, like, 37,000 spoilers right now. Should I, just for fun?” The 61-year-old actor also described his character Dr Doom as “wildly epic, to say the least.”

Evans also spoke about bringing his Captain America character back. He shared, “I said I would only come back for a real reason, and in Doomsday, there is a very real reason that these superheroes need Steve Rogers.” The pair showcased their bromance with playful, fun banter.

Evans cheekily confessed, “I love you, Downey, but this guy – I don’t like him (Doom).” To which the Iron Man star replied, “Those are fighting words” (via USA Today).
