David Harbour quoted a shocking line about Tony Stark while discussing Avengers: Doomsday
David Harbour, who reprises his role as Alexei Shostakov (Red Guardian) in Avengers: Doomsday, reveals an out-of-context line while teasing fans. The actor discussed the upcoming crossover in an exclusive, wide-ranging interview with Variety.
While the actor remained tight-lipped about the Marvel crossover, he shared a line involving Tony Stark. The interviewer asked him to deliver a line from Avengers: Doomsday. He responded, “You… are Tony Stark” in a Russian accent while he was pointing.
He did not reveal the context about who said the dialogue to whom. He did tease MCU fans with another glimpse from the much-awaited Marvel movie. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor might have said the line out of fun rather than actual dialogue. One reported possibility is that Red Guardian says the line to Doctor Doom when he takes off his mask.
Earlier, Marvel shared that Robert Downey Jr. will return to the Marvel Universe as Doctor Doom, surprising fans after his character Iron Man died in the 2019 Avengers: Endgame. Doctor Doom has no strong connection to Tony Stark in the comics that would explain why the actor was cast in both roles.
Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man in Marvel, is famous for accidentally revealing Marvel spoilers during interviews. He has previously shared details about Marvel projects, leading to several playful banter with his co-stars. David Harbour’s potential slip-up has drawn comparisons to Tom Holland’s history of revealing Marvel movie spoilers.
The highly anticipated Marvel crossover, Avengers: Doomsday, is scheduled to release on December 18 this year.
